tu tulle or not tu tulle

tulle.  it can be tacky or quite lovely.  Holiday uses it sparingly and in the lovely way-  peeking out from under our bustle skirts and an occasional dress (it's an option for all of our hand made pieces).  we also gobble up great vintage tulle finds.  we have a killer coral piece in the shop now.  at my niece's dance recital this weekend there was tulle to spare.  as a fairly inexpensive fabric, it can transform plain into pretty.  here is a look at some of this ballet inspired gauzy wonder...

i love this combination.  i've been fantasizing about re-doing Holiday's interior in this palette.  as summer is not a good time for a shop renovation, i may quench this gilded cup cake desire by doing over a walk-in closet at home.  currently it is covered in old, yellowed, granny wallpaper and stuffed with boxes.  i am waiting for a rainy weekend to tackle and prettify.  some inspiration below...

if Holiday could have a house photographer (other than my sister) i would choose Tim Walker.  my heart beats a-flutter when i look at his images.  i LOVE when that happens- and it's not often.  i get all woozy when i feel inspired.  for me, it's the best feeling in the world. here are just a few wonder-filled images.
