May 6, 2011 | in I ADORE!, New Arrivals here is the super pretty ensemble i was talking about in the prior post
the top is our classic "tent" top in sunshine dupioni silk with a warm grey/lavender silk neck bow. the skirt is a variation of our beloved charlotte skirt. in person, the silk skirt fabric looks watercolor-painted. it is semi sheer with a creamy underskirt/lining. i love!

while i was leaving the studio today, you should have seen the vintage Cinderella-worthy dress that was in the midst of a re-make. the hemline was being shortened from an unflattering mid-calf length and the excess fabric was about to become the prettiest chiffon bow hand stitched to the back.
it will be a must see!

May 4, 2011 | in I ADORE! happened over the weekend in Manhattan. I wish I could have made it. Holiday loves its vintage. We have our own line called "Holiday- Pretty Little Vintage" and its one of the best sellers in the shop. We scour weekly to find killer one-of-a-kind pieces... then we recreate. Usually we are raising hemlines, removing a sleeve or turning a dress into a skirt or vice versa. My sis is the real mastermind behind this operation.
The likes of Rachel Zoe, Chloe Sevigny and the costumiers for the new Great Gatsby film were all seen getting into the hunt. While I wouldn't be walking away with a $45,000 exotic skin Hermes Birkin, I'm sure I could cause some trouble in the Chanel costume jewelry aisle.
