let's get a drink

i've had 2 invites to "grab a drink" tonight.  i think it has something to do with this WEATHER that has all of us in a celebratory mood.   i'm a TERRIBLE drink mixer (though i'm quite skilled with a cork screw) but i do have a cool bar cart.   i tend to "style" it more than i bartend at it.  regardless, there are a ton of super savvy ways to "set up shop" for your next soiree.  from classic to creative- here are some excellent examples.  then i'll tell you where you can score one of my favorites...

while i think it would be most awesome to find a killer, vintage cart-  there are some pretty sweet, new ones over at SOCIETY SOCIAL.

i'm loving the Madison Mixer...

cheers!

ERIN Fetherston Spring 2012

you know you can always count on Holiday to bring you fresh, PRETTY and a bit-o-fantasy.  no one better exudes this sentiment than Erin by Erin Fetherston.  i told you how i DIED when i saw her collection for this Spring- and right now i am nearly without a pulse because the first delivery of LOVELIES is en route!  a reminder of the goddess-like designer, her aesthetic and collection that i CANNOT WAIT TO WEAR!

her inspiration board- all about MIA.

A++

Although I agree it's nuts to talk about what will be in the shops come Fall/Winter 2012 (it's been so darn mild this winter- my 2011 cashmere hasn't even had a chance to get pilly under the armpits yet) it's my job to see it and buy it if i LOVE it.  As you know, Lauren Moffatt's Fall 2012 presentation entitled, The Old School for Wayward Girls, happened today in Nolita.  Her 2012 F/W collection is "inspired by the innocent and classically undone style of a schoolgirl...its timeless color palate and buttoned up silhouettes, is effortlessly chic with just a touch of mischievousness that lurks behind every schoolgirl's peter pan collar and pleated skirt".  I'm DYING over (will surely be at Holiday) the sequin top/lace bottom long dress in 'art class' and the 'hot for teacher' cream silk/wool combo with the prettiest scalloped neck.  The prints were signature Moffatt in classic primary colors all perfectly balanced in feminine silhouettes.  The cheeky theater of it all- props and setting- was pure gorgeous-geek-chic. Even the invite, an old-school hall pass, made me want to smoke in the bathroom.

LOVE LOVE THIS

and THIS ONE in person was dynamite!

CLASSIC Moffatt, no?

letter press love

i first discovered the old fashion awesomeness of Sesame Letterpress in Brooklyn via a magazine.  i was in the throws of my silhouette madness/obsession and spotted these... (we made them into ornaments for Holiday's Christmas tree one season).  it's been a love affair ever since...

they hand press one after the other with their Victorian pressing machines

if you can't handle the thought of Valentine's Day- just skip this whole post... (actually i'll do an anti- valentine's day post soon)

but- if you can stomach it- aren't these cunnin'?

the tactile nature makes these so luxurious

other feel good items for offer.  should Holiday make the unicorn its mascot?

their business/social cards are cards are to die for, too.  so simple and chic, chic, chic.

can't get enough

a night at my parent's house is always a treat.  excellent meal, cozy flannel sheets and a glowing fire in the living room.  one piece of decor advice i always tell my mom is "get some leopard up in here!"  i will NEVER tire of this...
