object to room

i've always had a crush on these porcelain wonders by Waylande Gregory Studios.  i love the combo of kelly green, leopard and gold accents.

this would be fantastic hanging on a wall

i'd toss jewelry in here

and what awesome inspiration objects to translate into an interior.  look how FAB this office space is! (love the hardware on this desk!)  i'm on a mission to find a petite vintage bench to paint green and upholster the top in leopard. in a small scale it could be a neutral in any room.

AND- Holiday needs to invest in some leopard fabric- i'm thinking for one of our Charlotte skirts paired with a kelly green silk sash!  Ange?!

Erin Fetherston Spring 2012

i died over Erin Fetherston's Spring line in New York.  it's inspired by the lovely Mia Farrow and in particular a butterfly mask she wore to the Black and White ball.  Erin goes on to say her collection is all about "being happy and pretty".  talk about optimism!

how cool does she look?!

a peek at the collection...

this next look is my favorite

gorgeous, right?

optimism

i think life is all about how we manage the highs and lows- and i think it's imperative to imagine (and expect) the best for yourself.  i swear it works- the universe listens.

take it from Miss Optimism herself

a little slice of heaven

i went to my itty bitty cottage in kennebunkport, maine this weekend.  it is seriously the cutest little place ever.  Small Room Decorating (aka Country Almanac) magazine recently featured it in a winter 2011 issue.  i was delighted.

me before heading to dinner on saturday.  i went to Arrows!  (more on that extravaganza later).

 the mag

i swear i didn't use the word "urbanite"

the custom built in bench doubles as a guest bed and is about 15 feet long

of course i plugged Holiday- and here i am talking about nostalgic vintage postcards again

the stacked wood is an "optical illusion"- it's a door to storage

the kitchen is compact but completely functional

the bed is custom built on a platform and the mirror helps with light and space

the exterior (especially at night) is dreamy.  and below is an accurate quote

seduced i was... some exterior pics by me

the secret garden-esque patio

and awesome window boxes/landscaping

the pros and cons and did i really say "design junky???"  i don't recall that.

talk about a dollhouse!
